I’ve been watching the french spy series Le Bureau this winter. It is an enjoyable series that can be recommended.

For sociologists, an interesting detail is that it is written by Pierre Bourdieu’s son, Emmanuel Bourdieu. After seeing the Bourdieu name in it, I checked whether this in fact was Pierre Bourdieu’s son and my hunch turned out to be correct.

In hindsight it is quite obvious what the influence of Bourdieu the Elder is on the series: The plot is very intricate, much like Bourdieu’s own writing.
